2013-10-19 [ancienteye]: What's more, wives/mothers/step-mothers were in charge of the households, so you'll notice that in stories such as Cinderella/Ashenputel, Snow White/Snow Drop, and Hansel and Gretel, the step-mother is only punished for being abusive towards the child if they are cannibals or tried to out-and-out kill the child. Cannibalism was the ultimate sin in those stories. >__>
